Job summary

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Supermarket Refrigeration Technician to service, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems for grocery and retail clients. Focus areas include rack systems, display cases, and walk-in coolers/freezers to ensure equipment reliability and food safety.

This full-time, hands-on role requires EPA certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school or vocational certification preferred.
• Strong experience in supermarkets or convenience store refrigeration preferred.
• Working knowledge of rack systems, display cases, walk-in boxes.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand or sit for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul supermarket refrigeration systems including rack systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
• Service and maintain display cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to identify mechanical or operational deficiencies before system failure.
• Test malfunctioning systems using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Complete service calls efficiently while exceeding customer expectations.
• Perform general HVAC and refrigeration repairs including air conditioning units, gas furnaces, motors, and pumps as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul supermarket refrigeration systems, including rack systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls
• Service and maintain display cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance to identify mechanical or operational deficiencies before system failure
• Test malfunctioning systems using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Complete service calls efficiently while exceeding customer expectations
• Perform general HVAC and refrigeration repairs including air conditioning units, gas furnaces, motors, and pumps as needed
• Accurately complete work orders, service tickets, and maintenance documentation
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle
• Participate in an emergency on-call rotation
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
