Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience or an active veterinary technician license.
• Strong anesthesia assisting and monitoring skills.
• Experience with veterinary dentistry.
• Confidence with venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Strong patient history-taking and medical documentation skills.
• Knowledge of canine and feline vaccines.
• Strong understanding of preventive veterinary care.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.
• Empathy for clients, patients, coworkers, and yourself.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, procedures, and surgeries.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and anesthetic procedures.
• Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Closely monitor patient vital signs throughout anesthetic procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
• Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy.
• Perform and assist with dental procedures.
• Obtain complete patient histories and relevant medical information.
• Maintain accurate and thorough treatment records.
• Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients.

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 am-5 pm. One day off during the week and weekends off

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
