Job summary

Symphony Vet Center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan seeks an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our close-knit team. CVTs and RVTs are encouraged to apply if eligible to transfer a NY license. We rotate through hospital areas to develop diverse skills and support each other.

We welcome new grads eager to learn. The Lead LVT path is available with strong team culture and leadership opportunities, plus a 4-day workweek and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• New York State LVT license or eligibility to transfer the license.
• 2+ years veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Interest or experience in veterinary surgery and anesthesia.
• Ability to work in a rotating schedule including Saturdays.
• Comfortable working in a team-based hospital environment.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Commitment to Fear Free and low-stress handling practices.
• Willing to rotate through multiple technician responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to patients.
• Assist with surgical procedures and anesthesia.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor them during procedures and recovery.
• Perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Complete prescription refills and communicate medication instructions.
• Assist with appointments and patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Rotate through floor technician, surgery, pharmacy/refills, and other duties.
• Support doctors and fellow technicians throughout the hospital.
• Provide exceptional client service and education.

Symphony Vet Center is looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our close-knit team on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. CVTs and RVTs are encouraged to apply if you are eligible to transfer your license to New York State.

We are a well-established, community-focused veterinary hospital that has proudly served the neighborhood for 30 years. While we are part of a larger organization, we have maintained the welcoming, personal feel of a neighborhood practice where team members know one another, support each other, and genuinely enjoy coming to work.

We are looking for a Veterinary Technician with 2+ years of experience, particularly someone who enjoys surgical nursing and wants the opportunity to build skills across multiple areas of the hospital. New graduates who are eager to learn are also welcome to apply.

Compensation & Schedule

• Veterinary Technician/LVT: $35–$37/hour
• Lead LVT: $35–$40/hour, based on experience
• $1,000 sign-on bonus
• 4-day workweek
• Saturdays are currently every other Saturday

What You’ll Do

Our technicians rotate through different areas of the hospital rather than being assigned to one station every day. This gives our team variety, opportunities to continue developing their skills, and the ability to support one another throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities may include:

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• New York State LVT license, or eligibility to obtain/transfer a veterinary technician license to New York
• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred
• Strong interest or experience in veterinary surgery and anesthesia
• Comfortable working in a team-based environment
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills
• Commitment to Fear Free and low-stress handling practices
• Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule
