Job summary

Clearview Veterinary Imaging in Saratoga Springs, NY seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our ultrasound-focused imaging team. This full-time, in-person position offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in veterinary ultrasound within a specialty outpatient setting, away from emergency practice.

You will perform assessments, assist with ultrasound procedures, monitor patients, document care, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Active New York State LVT license
• Associate's or bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
• 2+ years of clinical experience; imaging/specialty experience a plus
• Proficiency with veterinary practice management software (Cornerstone, Avimark, ezyVet)
• Excellent patient handling with a calm, confident approach
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, triage, and pre-examination preparation
• Restrain and position patients for ultrasound and related procedures
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures including fine needle aspirates and biopsies
• Monitor patient vitals and wellbeing throughout examinations
• Sedate and provide general anesthesia for short image-guided procedures
• Document patient history, findings, and care in the practice management software
• Communicate results to referring veterinarians and staff
• Maintain imaging equipment, supplies, and sterile technique
• Educate clients on patient status during appointments
• Mentor and support veterinary assistants and staff

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to become a core member of our imaging team. This role offers the unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in veterinary ultrasound in a specialty outpatient setting, free from the demands of emergency or general practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform patient assessments, triage, and pre-examination preparation
• Restrain and position patients for ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures including fine needle aspirates and biopsies
• Monitor patient vitals and wellbeing throughout examinations
• Perform patient sedation and general anesthesia for short image guided procedures
• Accurately document patient history, findings, and care in practice management software
• Communicate results and case updates to referring veterinarians and their staff
• Maintain imaging equipment, supplies, and sterile technique standards
• Educate and update clients on patient status throughout appointments
• Mentor and support veterinary assistants and support staff

QUALIFICATIONS
