Hamburg Animal Hospital – Hamburg, NJ
Let’s be honest—there are a lot of technician jobs out there. This one? This one’s a little different.
At Hamburg Veterinary Clinic, our technicians are actually used like technicians. You’re not just holding pets and filling prescriptions—you’re placing catheters, running anesthesia, taking the lead in rooms, and being a true partner to the doctors. The medicine matters here, and so does your voice.
We’re a long-standing, community-rooted practice (serving Sussex County since 1971), and we’ve built a team that values doing things the right way—collaboratively, thoughtfully, and with a good sense of humor when the day gets chaotic (because it will).
If you like staying busy, using your skills, and working with people who genuinely have each other’s backs, you’ll probably feel right at home.
You’ll be hands-on in all the ways that make this career rewarding—running appointments alongside our doctors, collecting samples, placing IV catheters, taking radiographs (including dental), and supporting both routine and more complex procedures. You’ll play a key role in anesthesia (induction, monitoring, recovery), help keep surgery running smoothly, and make sure patients are comfortable every step of the way.
You’ll also be a go-to for clients—educating, answering questions, and helping them feel confident in their pet’s care. And because we’re a team that leans on each other, you’ll naturally step into mentoring newer team members and continuing to grow your own skillset along the way.
You’ve spent at least a couple of years in a small animal setting and feel confident in your technical skills. You’re comfortable with medical math, can juggle a busy day without losing your cool, and you take pride in doing things thoroughly (not just quickly).
Just as important—you’re someone people like working with. You communicate well, you stay positive even when things get hectic, and you’re the kind of person who notices what needs to be done before being asked.
We’re a well-established hospital with deep roots in the community, but we don’t operate like an “old school” clinic. We invest in our team, support growth, and make sure our technicians are empowered to do the job they trained for.
You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration over hierarchy, quality medicine over shortcuts, and a work environment where people stick around because they actually enjoy being here.
