Veterinary Technician

Location: Nashua, NH

Employment Type: Full-time OR Part-time

At Clark Veterinary Hospital, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, and pays attention to detail. Our Veterinary Technicians are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position requires working between 30-40 hours a week, or a part-time position at 20-30 hours a week.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist in hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  2. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  3. Provide anesthesia and monitoring for procedures and surgery.
  4. Monitor and assess patient’s status.
  5. Perform dental radiographs, scaling, and polishing.
  6. Utilize medical math skills effectively.
  7. Conduct in-house diagnostics including radiographs, bloodwork, urinalysis (via cysto), and other testing.
  8. Place catheters and assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
  9. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients, maintain medical charts.
  10. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and keep treatment areas clean, sterile, and organized.
  11. Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  12. Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Veterinary technician experience required
  • Surgery experience required
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience
  • Basic tech skills including venipuncture, anesthesia, nursing care
  • Team-oriented attitude with a positive, can-do approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Professional demeanor with an outgoing personality
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and stand, squat, reach, and walk throughout the day

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, starting at $20-28/hour. The actual rate will consider your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
