AmeriVet’s Sequist Animal Hospital in Morristown, VT is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join a compassionate team. The role supports veterinarians during exams and surgeries and contributes to high-quality patient care in a hospital setting.

We offer a four-day work week, no weekends or late nights, and a pay range of $20.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience, with a $1000 sign-on bonus for surgical experience. Full-time benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries.
• Ability to restrain animals safely and calmly.
• Knowledge of vaccines, medications, and treatment procedures.
• Competence in running basic lab tests and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with radiology procedures, including dental radiographs.
• Phlebotomy skills and catheter placement.
• Accurate record keeping of patient data and treatments.
• Effective communication with clients about care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Run lab diagnostics and process samples.
• Perform radiology techniques, including dental radiographs.
• Conduct phlebotomy and catheter placement as needed.
• Ensure appropriate sterilization of hospital and equipment.
• Provide client education through clear communication.
• Monitor anesthesia pre- and post-operation.

We are open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with team members having a four-day work week. This means no weekends or late-night shifts! Why? Because we truly value a work life balance. While the work we provide is incredibly important and valuable, so are you.

Pay Range: rate is based off from experience and certifications but can range from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. This can vary depending on experience.

SIGN ON BONUS FOR SURGICAL EXPERIENCE OF $1000.00

Core Responsibilities / Skills

• Assisting Veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
• Understanding of medical terminology and products
• Safe and fear free animal restraint/handling
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Running lab diagnostics
• Radiology techniques (including dental)
• Phlebotomy skills / catheter placement
• Appropriate sterilization of hospital and equipment
• Provide education for clients through effective communication
• Anesthesia monitoring including pre and post op
• Machine maintenance
• Appropriate record keeping
