Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other procedures.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients, surgical suites, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and accurate anesthetic documentation.
  • Monitor patient vitals and communicate changes to the veterinarian.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client education.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients, surgical suites, instruments, and equipment for procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and accurate anesthetic documentation
  • Monitor patient vital signs and communicate changes promptly to the veterinarian
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for reference laboratories
  • Work confidently in treatment rooms while assisting DVMs with appointments and patient care
  • Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
  • Educate clients regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Keep surgical, treatment, and exam areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patient care
  • Anticipate the needs of the veterinary team to promote efficiency and exceptional patient care

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous Veterinary Technician experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong surgical and anesthesia-monitoring experience
  • Confidence assisting with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging
  • Safe and effective patient-handling and restraint skills
  • Comfort working in both surgery and treatment-room environments
  • Excellent client communication and education skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and maintain high standards of patient care in a busy hospital
  • Confidence taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities
