Job summary

Muddy Creek Animal Care Center is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. The role involves assisting veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgeries, preparing for procedures, and providing perioperative nursing care in a small animal hospital setting.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of small animal surgical experience, be comfortable with venipuncture and IV catheter placement, and contribute to client

Qualifications

  • At least two years of small animal surgical experience.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of vaccines and preventive medicine.
  • Experience obtaining patient histories and maintaining medical records.
  • Confidence performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
  • Experience administering and dispensing medications.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology calculations.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A positive, dependable, and collaborative attitude.
  • A genuine passion for helping pets and the people who love them.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide attentive perioperative nursing care.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery as directed.
  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer and dispense medications accurately.
  • Perform pharmacology calculations.
  • Collect blood samples and place intravenous catheters.
  • Support preventive care appointments and client education.
  • Administer vaccines and educate clients about preventive healthcare.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

  • Role: Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Status: Full-time
  • Salary: $21 -0 $27 per hour (Depending on experience and licensure)
  • Schedule: 3-4 shifts week, including an eve shift, 4th weekend rotation
