Job summary

North Oatland Animal Hospital is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our dedicated team in Leesburg, VA. You will support veterinarians with patient care, exams, anesthesia, and recovery, while delivering compassionate service to clients.

Ideal candidates hold an LVT certification, can handle animals safely, and communicate clearly about care plans and status updates. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive, AAHA-accredited work environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states; alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $25.00-$33.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience

Schedule: Full or part time, must be available Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays.
