Animal Medical Center of Moss Bluff in Moss Bluff (Lake Charles, LA) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our growing small animal practice.

If you have at least one year in a veterinary hospital and enjoy a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, we'd love to meet you. Full-time or part-time roles are available, with a sign-on bonus for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• At least one year in a veterinary hospital setting.
• Experience as Veterinary Technician or Assistant.
• Strong restraint and animal handling skills.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and procedures.
• Positive attitude, dependable attendance, and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Record patient histories and vital signs.
• Restrain patients safely during exams and procedures.
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples.
• Take digital radiographs.
• Support hospitalized patient care and treatments.
• Prepare exam rooms and support daily appointments.

• Sign-On Bonus for full-time employees: $500, paid after 90 days of employment, 1 year claw back

What You'll Do

• Assisting veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
• Collecting patient histories and obtaining vital signs
• Safely restraining patients during examinations and procedures
• Performing laboratory diagnostics and preparing samples
• Taking digital radiographs
• Assisting with hospitalized patient care and treatments
• Preparing exam rooms and supporting daily appointments
• Monitoring patients throughout the day and communicating with clients
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Supporting surgery and dental procedures as your skills continue to develop

Our team members work closely with one doctor throughout the day, becoming an important part of the patient experience from check-in through discharge.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum one year of veterinary hospital experience required
• Previous Veterinary Technician or Assistant experience required
• Strong restraint and animal handling skills
• Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and clinical procedures
• Positive attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed
• Dependable attendance and strong communication skills
• Passion for high-quality patient care and teamwork

Schedule

• Full-Time or Part-Time opportunities available
• Monday-Friday only
• No weekends
• Typical schedule:
• Arrival time: 7:20 AM
• Hospital hours: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch
• Most team members work five days per week with one half day
