Description

Are you an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Technician looking to bring your skills to a high-quality, high-volume hospital that values your contributions, supports your growth, and provides a collaborative team environment? Lange Animal Hospital in Knoxville, TN is seeking a compassionate, motivated professional to join our dynamic team and help us deliver exceptional care to our patients—including dogs, cats, and the occasional exotic companion.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where your technical expertise, clinical judgment, and client communication skills will be valued and used to their fullest. You’ll work alongside seasoned veterinarians and paraprofessionals in a modern, well-equipped facility where teamwork and patient care come first.

(Experience with exotic animals is a plus!)

What You’ll Do:
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries, diagnostics, and medical treatments
  • Confidently and compassionately restrain and handle animals, including exotics, when applicable
  • Perform thorough patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, and TPR assessments
  • Administer vaccinations, medications (oral, SQ, IM, IV), and treatments as prescribed
  • Educate clients on preventive care, post-op instructions, and ongoing health management
  • Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics, such as fecals, urinalysis, ear/skin cytology, and bloodwork prep
  • Assist with radiology, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleanings
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support inventory and pharmacy management
  • Uphold hospital protocols, cleanliness, and safety standards in all areas
What You Bring:
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a veterinary assistant or technician role (CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in restraint, anesthesia monitoring, surgical support, and client education
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume setting with a focus on teamwork
  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and team members
  • A genuine love for animals and a commitment to delivering top-tier care
