I-20 Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency and general practice in Hudson Oaks, TX. Daily responsibilities include assisting veterinarians, triaging emergencies, and providing critical care for canine and feline patients.

We offer day, swing, and overnight shifts in a fast-paced hospital. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and compassionate nursing care for emergency and hospitalized patients.

Competenze

• Minimum hands-on Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Emergency/critical care experience preferred.
• Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you'll work alongside our veterinarians and support team to provide hands-on emergency and hospitalized patient care.

Responsibilities May Include

• Assist veterinarians with emergency examinations, triage, diagnostics, and treatments
• Monitor emergency, critical, and hospitalized patients
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Administer medications, fluid therapy, and prescribed treatments
• Collect and process laboratory samples and run in-house diagnostics
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Monitor anesthesia and support emergency surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs, pain levels, and recovery
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns to the medical team
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Communicate patient updates during shift changes
• Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients
• Collaborate with teammates to maintain efficient patient flow throughout the hospital

What We're Looking For

• Previous hands-on Veterinary Technician experience required
• Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) encouraged to apply
• Emergency, urgent care, or critical care experience preferred
• Strong foundational veterinary nursing skills, including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, diagnostics, and patient monitoring
• Surgery and anesthesia experience is a plus
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced veterinary hospital
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and adaptable during emergency situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable, compassionate, and committed to high-quality patient care

Schedule

• Day shifts available
• Swing/evening shifts available
• Overnight shifts available
• Four 10-hour shifts preferred
• Three 12-hour shifts may be considered based on hospital needs
• Scheduling needs include weekday and weekend coverage
