Job summary

Saint Frances Animal Center in Georgetown, SC is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our shelter-based clinic focused on high-volume spay/neuter services and community care. You will provide essential animal care, assist with surgeries, and maintain records with compassion.

We offer competitive pay based on experience, along with paid time off and holidays. The role requires physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and strong client communication skills. Training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary or surgical settings is preferred; training may be provided.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent client and team communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic animal care including safe handling and restraint.
• Administer vaccinations and medications.
• Draw blood and run in-house lab work (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal tests).
• Take radiographs (X-rays).
• Place IV catheters and administer fluids.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia.
• Prepare surgical packs and assist with procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and notes.
• Support clients with professionalism and compassion.
