Job summary

Animal Hospital of Dunedin is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in Florida. The role involves assisting veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery, while maintaining compassionate handling of animals and clear client communication.

Qualified candidates will have at least one year of veterinary experience, familiarity with common diseases, and knowledge of hospital safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience is required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.

Veterinary Technician

Salary: $22.00-$24.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Rotating schedule, open on weekends and late on Wednesdays

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8AM-6PM

Wednesday 8AM-8PM

Rotating Weekends- Saturday 8AM-2PM, Sundays 8 AM-12PM

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.

• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
