Job summary

Four Paws Veterinary Center in California is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Technician (licensed or unlicensed) to join a collaborative team dedicated to high-quality patient care.

You will provide nursing care, support veterinarians during wellness and surgical visits, educate clients, assist with anesthesia, maintain medical records, and mentor teammates. Full-time schedule features four 10-hour shifts, with growth opportunities and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant or licensed/unlicensed technician.
• Strong medical knowledge and clinical skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic.
• Excellent communication and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to lift/restrain pets up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care using technical skills (venipuncture, catheter placement, diagnostics, radiography, dental radiology, dental cleanings).
• Support veterinarians during wellness, illness, injury, and surgical visits.
• Advocate for patients and educate clients.
• Assist with anesthesia, procedures, and surgeries (monitoring and recovery).
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Support and mentor teammates as needed.
• Availablity to work four 10 hour shifts per week for full-time employment.
