Job summary

United Veterinary Care partner hospital in Asheboro, NC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about animal care and client education. You will assist veterinarians with nursing tasks, gather health histories, and help deliver high-quality medical and preventive care in a supportive team environment.

The role emphasizes teaching, mentorship, and professional growth, with a 40-hour workweek and a patient-centered approach to every animal and owner you serve.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience ideal; training available for fast learners.
  • Excellent communication with clients and team.
  • Proficient time management, problem solving, multitasking.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient, positive professional attitude.
  • Must be able to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and handle stress calmly.
  • Detail oriented due to high quality medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate nursing care using a variety of technical skills such as diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, dental radiology, and dental prophylaxis.
  • Support veterinarians to ensure care during preventative, injury, and illness visits.
  • Advocate for patients and educate clients.
  • Obtain health history from clients and document in EMR.
  • Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Constantly advance your knowledge and skill set.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Skills and Qualifications:
