Responsibilities

  • Soothe anxious cats and handle them gently.
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and post-op care.
  • Maintain accurate client health histories in EMR.
  • Mentor teammates and support ongoing learning.
  • Continuously advance knowledge and skills.

Registered Veterinary Technician (Feline Only Practice, Denver, CO)

We're on the hunt for a remarkable Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our purr-fect feline-only practice in beautiful Denver, Colorado. If you're a cat enthusiast who thrives on providing top-notch care and creating a memorable experience, this is the job for you! Denver Cat Hospitalis a feline only practice that has two full-time vets on staff. Both the experienced veterinarians and support team are obsessed with our feline friends! Our team is well-trained in how to make cats feel at ease and less anxious while at the hospital, as well as helping them through their exams, preventative treatments, and surgical and dental needs throughout any stage of their life.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional, compassionate nursing care to patients utilizing a variety of technical skills, including diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, dental radiology, and prophylactic cleanings
  • Support veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary care during preventative, injury and illness visits
  • Master the art of gentle handling and become a pro at soothing even the most finicky kitties.
  • Assist with patient procedures and surgeries, including anesthetic induction and monitoring, pre and post operative patient care, surgical suite, instrument, and equipment care
  • Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record
  • Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
  • Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set
Skills and Qualifications
  • Your love for cats should be off the charts!
  • 2 years’ professional experience in small animal clinical setting as a technician
  • Superior technical knowledge and skills
  • Proficient in medical math calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, conversions, etc.)
  • You've got the gift of gab and can charm the whiskers off any cat owner with your exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks
  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude
  • Must be able to monitor anesthesia
  • Have the ability to adjust to changes in the environment and able to handle stress in a calm manner
  • Be a team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude
  • Be able to anticipate and be detail oriented due to the high level of quality medicine
