Job summary

Qualifications

Role Description

The Veterinary Technician will assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, including handling and monitoring patients before, during, and after medical interventions. Daily responsibilities include preparing and maintaining treatment areas, collecting and processing laboratory samples, administering medications as directed, and ensuring accurate medical recordkeeping. The role also involves educating clients about their pet’s care plans, discharge instructions, and preventive health measures, while providing calm, professional communication in urgent situations. The Veterinary Technician will work closely with the medical team to uphold safety standards, maintain equipment and inventory, and support a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, monitoring of vital signs, and providing compassionate support to patients.
• Experience or training in Anesthesiology, including patient preparation, monitoring under supervision, and post-anesthetic care.
• Ability to deliver clear, empathetic Client Education, explaining treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive health recommendations.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) or eligibility for licensure in Colorado preferred; relevant on-the-job experience considered.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic medical records and diagnostic equipment; commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Salary Range

• Neurology: $28-32/hour
• Surgical Oncology: $28-31/hour
• Surgery: $27-30/hour
• Dentistry: $27-29/hour
• Anesthesia: $30-34/hour, availability for on-call shifts, eligible for $350 on-call bonus
