Job summary

Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) in Boulder, CO is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician, Neurology. The role focuses on monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases, providing hands-on experience with complex neurological conditions.

The position requires CVT/LVT/RVT or PVT certification in Colorado, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and excellent English communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases.

• Dispense medications directed by veterinarian.
• Prepare estimates for the doctor and input technician charges.
• Assist neurologist with initial consultations and rechecks.
• Anesthesia monitoring for MRIs and neurosurgical procedures; endotracheal intubation; CALCs.
• Maintain clean operating room and sterilize instruments.
• Calculate drug dosages.
• Professional client communication in person and on the phone.

Job Description
In this role, the Neurology Technician will be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with complex neurological conditions, and to deepen your understanding of brain function and neurological disease.

Responsibilities

• Technical skills : venipuncture, blood draw, placing IV catheter, lab sample collection
• Admitting and discharging procedural and surgical cases.
• Dispensing medications directed by veterinarian
• Preparing estimates for the doctor and inputting technician appointment charges
• Assisting neurologist with initial consultations and rechecks including collecting a medical history and obtaining patient vitals.
• Anesthesia monitoring for MRIs and neurosurgical procedures, endotracheal intubation, calculation of CRIs.
• Ability to multitask in fast paced environment with a positive attitude
• Ability to set up and break down operating room and clean surgical instruments
• Calculate drug dosages
• Professional and compassionate client communication in‑person and on the phone.

Qualifications

• Must be CVT, LVT, RVT, or PVT certified in Colorado.
• Experience : 1 year + of applicable experience
• Strong knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and work on your feet for prolonged periods
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills, maintaining high-quality standards in patient care and decision‑making.
• Ability to communicate effectively with CASE staff and team members.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
