Dodge City Veterinary Hospital in Denham Springs, LA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our community-focused practice. You will assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries and treatments, monitor anesthesia, place IV catheters, draw blood, and educate clients on medications and care plans.

With at least 2 years of hands-on veterinary technician or assistant experience, you’ll thrive in a collaborative team where patient advocacy and compassionate care are core values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on veterinary technician or assistant experience.
• Proficiency with IV catheter placement, bloodwork, and injections.
• Experience monitoring anesthesia.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
• Placing IV catheters and performing blood draws and injections (IV/IM/SQ)
• Monitoring anesthesia and using diagnostic and monitoring equipment
• Supporting patient flow through admissions, treatments, and discharges

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in improving and saving pets' lives every day by:

• Assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
• Placing IV catheters and performing blood draws and IV, IM, and SQ injections
• Monitoring anesthesia and utilizing diagnostic and monitoring equipment
• Supporting patient flow through admissions, treatments, and discharges
• Educating clients on individualized pet care, medications, and treatment plans
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records
• Practicing safe restraint techniques and maintaining clean, organized treatment areas
• Mentoring and supporting fellow team members
