Pet Hospital of South Collins, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our team.
About You
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in pet care, providing comprehensive support from outpatient treatments and laboratory tests to surgery assistance and patient admission/discharge services.
Experience & Skills Requirements
- 2 years of continuous veterinary technician/assistant experience (direct animal/patient care required)
- LVT, RVT, CVT or Pre‑Vet is a plus!
- Strong skills and comfort monitoring anesthesia and surgery patients
- Must be able to work rotating weekends and certain holidays
- Desire to practice empathetic, gold‑standard medicine benefiting our patients
- Team oriented with an ability to collaborate and support each other
- Positive, kind, trustworthy communication to patients, team members, and clients.
- Desire to constantly grow and advance as a veterinary technician!
Role Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians in delivering quality veterinary care, advocating for pets, and educating clients.
- Assist in maximizing productivity and maintaining positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns and provide guidance on Thrive Membership, medications, and treatments.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records using practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
