Job summary

The Dallas World Aquarium in Dallas, TX is seeking a motivated Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary and animal care team. This role supports health, treatment, and welfare for a diverse range of species, including birds, reptiles, mammals, fish, and amphibians.

You will work closely with veterinarians and animal care staff to assist in examinations, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, and medical imaging while maintaining precise records and supporting preventative care.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Texas or eligible for licensure.
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Exotic animal or wildlife medicine experience preferred.
  • Avian, reptile, or aquatic species care experience preferred.
  • Zoo, aquarium, or wildlife rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures.
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics and sample preparation.
  • Assist with radiographs and medical imaging.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Maintain medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Assist with preventative health care and quarantine procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with animal care staff to monitor animal health.
  • Assist with emergency veterinary care when required.

Dallas World Aquarium – Dallas, Texas

The Dallas World Aquarium is seeking a motivated and personable Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary and animal care team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a large zoological and aquarium facility assisting in the care of a wide variety of exotic species including birds, reptiles, mammals, fish, and amphibians.

The Veterinary Technician will work closely with veterinarians and animal care staff to support the health, treatment, and welfare of the animals in our care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics and sample preparation
  • Assist with radiographs and medical imaging
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Maintain medical records and treatment documentation
  • Assist with preventative health care and quarantine procedures
  • Work collaboratively with animal care staff to monitor animal health
  • Assist with emergency veterinary care when required
