Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician for full-time employment. The role involves providing essential support for our pet patients, including administering treatments and performing diagnostic tests. You will also assist in surgical procedures and educate pet owners on care.

Veterinary Technician

Vanguard Veterinary Clinic: 2815 N Loop, 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232

Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shift with rotating Saturdays

About You

You'll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

The success of your patients’ care matters to you, and your success matters to us.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform venipuncture, IV-catheter, and injection administration
  • General patient care
  • Set up, position, and take digital radiographs
  • Collect, set up, and interpret in-house laboratory and cytology tests
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures
  • Educate clients on preventive care
  • Properly and safely restrain patients, reliably and with compassion to prepare for procedures performed by technicians and/or doctors.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • 2 years in veterinary hospital experience
  • LVT preferred, not required
  • Collaborator and willingness to cross train in all areas of a practice
