Job summary

Swift Creek Animal Hospital in Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join a busy practice with a collaborative team. The role involves assisting veterinarians, monitoring anesthesia, collecting samples, and educating clients to support preventive care.

You will work 30–40 hours per week with one Saturday per month (8 AM–12 PM) and enjoy a strong, supportive hospital culture focused on patient care, teamwork, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active NC RVT license required.
• 2+ years veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, and in-house diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely monitor anesthesia and patient recovery during surgical and dental procedures.
• Collect laboratory samples, perform diagnostic testing, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area.
• Support and mentor assistants and newer team members as needed.
• Help ensure a smooth daily workflow while delivering compassionate patient care.

What You Bring To The Table

• Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina
• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred
• Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, in‑house diagnostics, medication administration, and patient care
• Strong knowledge of canine and feline vaccines, preventatives, and nursing care
• Experience assisting in surgery and monitoring sedated or anesthetized patients
• Excellent communication and client education skills
• Experience with veterinary software systems (Avimark experience a plus)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to support coworkers and jump in where needed
