Job summary

Ventura County Community College District seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support the implementation of the Veterinary Technology program. Responsibilities include assisting students and instructors, demonstrating proper animal care, and maintaining laboratory safety standards.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of high school or equivalent and two years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Or completion of a Veterinary Assistant program and one year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in small groups to reinforce instructions.
• Help demonstrate proper care and handling of animals.
• Setup and clean instruments used in class presentations.
• Demonstrate the use of various veterinary tools and equipment.
• Ensure safety policies in the veterinary technology lab.
