Job summary

Yuba Community College District is seeking a Veterinary Technology Instructor for a long-term temporary assignment. The role involves organizing and teaching the full veterinary technology curriculum, preparing students for state board exams, and maintaining AVMA accreditation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of laws governing Veterinary Technicians in California.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and teach all levels of lecture and laboratory courses covering the veterinary technology curriculum.
  • Prepare students to become eligible to take state board examinations and work as Registered Veterinary Technicians.
  • Maintain AVMA accreditation, submit required reports, work with outside agencies, and develop an advisory committee.
  • Prepare and complete course syllabi and outlines.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and assist in transfer/articulation with high schools and colleges.
  • Create diverse and motivating learning environments, including distance learning and accelerated courses.
  • Teach courses as assigned to meet student needs and collaborate with related departments.
  • Participate in department, division and college-wide initiatives and committees.
  • Engage in shared governance processes.
