Veterinary Specialty Center in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our specialty surgical team. You will work closely with a Board-Certified Surgeon, handling anesthesia, surgical cases, diagnostics, hospitalization and patient recovery from prep through discharge.

Experience in specialty medicine is not required initially; solid veterinary fundamentals and a drive to advance skills are valued. We offer training and growth within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• IV catheter placement and venipuncture.
• Preparing patients for surgical procedures.
• Anesthesia preparation and monitoring.
• Monitoring patients during surgical procedures.
• Post-anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
• Medication administration.
• Hospitalized patient nursing and monitoring.
• Patient restraint and safe handling.
• Assisting with advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Preparing and maintaining the surgical and treatment areas.
• Communicating closely with veterinarians and the patient-care team.
