Job summary

Midtown Veterinary Medical Center in Fort Collins, CO is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. The role offers a diverse caseload including exams, dental and surgical support, and outpatient procedures.

We offer a full-time schedule with 4/10 hours, competitive hourly pay, and benefits such as health coverage, life insurance, disability, 401k matching, PTO, and an up-to-$500 bonus based on experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and low-stress restraint.
• Strong client communication and education.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience with radiographs and positioning.
• Assist with surgery setup and anesthesia monitoring.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and low-stress restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
