Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team in Birmingham, AL. This full-time role involves anesthesia, surgical nursing, and perioperative care in a collaborative specialty hospital.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with surgery experience.
• Experience with anesthesia induction, intubation, and monitoring.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stay on your feet during shifts.
• Excellent client communication in English and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Obtain thorough histories and communicate with clients; prepare estimates, invoices, prescriptions, and discharge instructions.
• Prepare surgical patients and assist with procedures; manage surgical equipment.
• Develop and implement anesthetic protocols; monitor vital signs and respond to abnormalities.
• Provide postoperative recovery, pain management, and bandaging as needed.
• Maintain records and collaborate with doctors and team members.
