Calera Animal Hospital in Calera, AL is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and lab testing while delivering client education.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and objects up to 25 pounds, with assistance over that limit.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab testing; prepare specimens.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams; administer medications as directed.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and restock supplies; support the team.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members; provide compassionate care.
