Arista Advance Pet Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgery Technician/Assistant to support our surgical team and provide exceptional care before, during, and after procedures. You will monitor anesthesia, assist with sterile technique, and educate owners on aftercare in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of anesthesia, surgical prep, and post-operative care, with a passion for animal welfare and teamwork.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred.
• Experience in veterinary surgery or a similar specialty is highly desirable but not required.

Aufgaben

• Assist in patient care and monitoring during surgery, including sterile field setup and instrument handling.
• Monitor and maintain anesthesia levels and patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies for a sterile environment.
• Assist with pre-surgical assessments and IV catheter placement; aid in diagnostic testing.
• Provide post-surgical care, including pain management and owner education for aftercare.
• Collect diagnostic samples and assist with imaging procedures when needed.
• Communicate treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and home care to clients.
• Assist with routine and specialized procedures such as catheter placement, blood draws, and injections.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples and assist in interpreting results.
• Maintain accurate medical records and progress notes for patients.
• Ensure stock levels of surgical supplies and proper inventory management.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to maintain high standards of care.
