Job summary

Arista Advanced Pet Care in Durham, NC is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians, improve patient care, and streamline clinic operations. You will assist with surgical cases, anesthesia monitoring, patient records, and client communication.

We value teamwork, compassion, and high-quality care. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience, be licensed where required, and be able to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working as a veterinary professional.
• When required, current Veterinary Technician License must be provided before start date.
• Ability to follow directives and plan of care established by the Veterinarian.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and empathy in client interactions.
• Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in care and monitoring of surgery patients, including preparation and sterile setup.
• Monitor anesthesia levels and vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies.
• Collect diagnostic samples and assist with imaging procedures (X-ray, CT, Ultrasound).
• Communicate treatment plans and post-treatment care to clients; educate on medications and discharge instructions.
