Job summary

Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital – South Austin is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse with strong anesthesia and perioperative nursing skills. You will work in a fast-paced, 24-hour specialty and emergency setting, collaborating with surgeons and clinicians to deliver exceptional patient care.

The role requires independent anesthesia management for ASA I–IV, advanced nursing knowledge, and a collaborative attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of veterinary nursing experience.
• 2+ years in anesthesia/surgical settings preferred.
• Ability to manage anesthesia for ASA I–IV patients independently.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage anesthesia for elective, specialty, and emergency surgeries.
• Create anesthetic protocols for safe analgesia.
• Monitor patients and respond to anesthetic complications.
• Calculate and administer CRIs, analgesics, and fluids.
• Prepare and maintain records, equipment, and surgical suites.
