Who we are

Eastown Animal Hospital is a small animal, general practice that has provided care to patients from Des Moines, Pleasant Hill, Runnells, Altoona, and surrounding communities for over 80 years. We have a dedicated team that provides exceptional service and care to our patients and clients.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-centered environment

• Ability to work to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Willingness and ability to learn and improve from the guidance of others and be able to multi-task

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Compassionate desire for animals and their environment

• Computer literacy and proficient with Microsoft Office, and strong organizational skills

• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills

• High School Degree required

Responsibilities:

• Welcome all clients and pets with a positive greeting

• Answer phones, take messages, and answer client questions as appropriate

• Schedule patients using our practice management software

• Generate invoices, collect payments from clients, manage cash boxes, and make bank runs twice a week

• Manage email, general mail, client paperwork and pet medical records

• Know what services Eastown Animal Hospital provides and give estimates as appropriate

• Communicate with Veterinarians and support staff regarding client and patient needs

• Providing excellent customer service to pet owners

• Maintain a clean and organized work space

Schedule:

Weekly schedule includes a 3-day work week with 8.5-hour shifts. No evenings, no weekends, and no on-call shifts.
