Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative

Ventura, CA

Ohana Pet Hospital is seeking an outgoing Client Service Representative to serve as the welcoming face of our hospital.

In this fast-paced role, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services — for dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, and some reptiles. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused customer service environment where every pet and person who walks through the door is treated with genuine care and compassion.

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $20 - 23 per hour, for each hour worked
  • Schedule: This is a full-time position, with a 4 x 10 schedule and availability needed Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. No on-call requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer service, reception, or client-facing role
  • Previous veterinary receptionist or healthcare-related front-desk experience preferred
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Ability to manage a multi-phone line system while assisting in-person clients
    • Experience working with veterinary practice management software, especially Cornerstone, preferred
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and emotionally sensitive situations
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred
    • Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records
    • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team
    • Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy periods

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
