Job summary

Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our team in a full-time role. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with 7–8 hour days and rotating Saturdays, no on-call shifts, and no holiday hours.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant or in a similar veterinary role.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfort with animal handling and supporting patient care.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a busy environment.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Confidence using computers and practice management software.
  • Compassion and professionalism in sensitive conversations.
  • Team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Availability for rotating Saturday shifts.
  • A genuine love for animals and the people who care for them.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and their pets warmly and create a positive experience from the moment they arrive.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and help clients with questions.
  • Check clients and patients in and out efficiently.
  • Process payments and keep client and patient records accurate.
  • Relay messages and coordinate with veterinarians and team members to keep the day running smoothly.
  • Help with prescription and food requests according to hospital procedures.
  • Assist the medical team with exam room support and patient care as needed.
  • Help safely handle and restrain patients during exams and procedures.
  • Keep the reception area, exam rooms, and treatment areas clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, including during emotional moments.
  • Support your teammates and pitch in wherever needed.

Position Details

Role: Experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7–8 hour days, with rotating Saturdays so you have most weekends off. No on-call shifts or holiday hours.

Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital is a well-established practice that takes real pride in excellent patient care and exceptional client service. We’re looking for a full-time Experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our fantastic team.

You’ll work 7–8-hour days, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays rotate, so most of your weekends are your own. There are no on-call shifts or holiday hours. Work-life balance here isn’t a buzzword; it’s built into the schedule.
