Job summary

Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. You’ll work a 7–8 hour day Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays so most weekends are yours. There are no on-call shifts or holiday hours, and lunch breaks are a priority.

You’ll move between front desk and patient care, with growth opportunities, mentoring, and a supportive culture that values exceptional patient care and client service.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant or in a similar veterinary role
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Comfort with animal handling and supporting patient care
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • Confidence using computers and practice management software
  • Compassion and professionalism in sensitive or difficult conversations
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Availability for rotating Saturday shifts
  • A genuine love for animals and the people who care for them

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and their pets warmly and create a positive experience from the moment they arrive
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and help clients with questions
  • Check clients and patients in and out efficiently
  • Process payments and keep client and patient records accurate
  • Relay messages and coordinate with veterinarians and team members to keep the day running smoothly
  • Help with prescription and food requests according to hospital procedures
  • Assist the medical team with exam room support and patient care as needed
  • Help safely handle and restrain patients during exams and procedures
  • Keep the reception area, exam rooms, and treatment areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, including during emotional moments
  • Support your teammates and pitch in wherever needed

Role: Experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7–8 hour days, with rotating Saturdays so you have most weekends off. No on-call shifts or holiday hours.

Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital is a well-established practice that takes real pride in excellent patient care and exceptional client service. We’re looking for a full-time Experienced Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our fantastic team.

You’ll work 7–8-hour days, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays rotate, so most of your weekends are your own. There are no on-call shifts or holiday hours. Work-life balance here isn’t a buzzword; it’s built into the schedule.
