Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. You will welcome clients, manage calls and emails, schedule appointments, and handle front-desk transactions with empathy and professionalism.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of receptionist or veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset. We offer a supportive environment and opportunities for growth in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• At least one year of receptionist or veterinary experience preferred.
• A compassionate, calm, and professional approach to client service.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

• A self-starter mindset with a desire to learn and grow in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and patients warmly while maintaining a clean, professional, and inviting reception area.
• Answer phone calls and emails, respond to questions, and direct concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Schedule veterinary appointments efficiently to support patient needs and daily hospital flow.
• Check clients in and out, process payments, and complete front-desk transactions accurately.
• Listen to client concerns and provide compassionate, discreet emotional support during stressful or difficult situations.
• Recognize urgent concerns and promptly communicate with the veterinary team when a patient may need immediate attention.
• Help clients navigate their veterinary visits and connect them with the appropriate team members for questions about care and treatment.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants to support clear communication and exceptional service.
