As a Receptionist you will:
- Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling purposes.
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
- Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling future appointments.
- Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
- Manage hospital finances by maintaining accurate balances, collecting client payments, and following cash handling procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
- Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
- Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and team members.
- Show empathy towards clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
Additional requirements include:
- Utilizing standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with veterinary software preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate solutions and approaches.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, good judgment, and stress management skills.
Compensation and benefits:
- Pay range of $13.35-$20.90/hour based on experience.
