Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree; three years of veterinary clinical practice experience.
• Five years of academic experience in veterinary education AND veterinary clinical practice, with internal LSU review.
• Ability to acquire a faculty or full veterinary license in the state of Louisiana.
• Preferred: DVM or equivalent; five or more years of academic experience in veterinary education AND veterinary clinical practice AND two or more years of adult education experience.
• Preferred: Masters or other post-graduate degree in education.

Responsibilities

• 70% - Provide instruction in clinical and surgical skills labs across years 1–4 in the DVM program, supervising students in pre/post-operative care.
• 10% - Facilitate small-group sessions in communication skills labs and problem-based learning (years 1–3).
• 10% - Participate in OSCEs as examiner/handler/assistant.
• 5% - Support development/maintenance of low-fidelity models for labs.
• 4% - Other duties as assigned.
• 1% - Drive university vehicles to collect donations and move assets to outreach events.
