The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for the Director of Clinical Skills, a non-tenure track role at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, based in Cabot, Arkansas.

The position focuses on designing a modern clinical skills curriculum, developing labs, assessing students with OSCEs, mentoring faculty, and advancing teaching innovations while meeting accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee the veterinary skills curriculum, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain clinical skills laboratories, including simulation-based training and live-animal teaching opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate clinical skills training throughout all years of the veterinary program.
• Evaluate and assess student performance in clinical skills, using OSCEs and other competency assessment tools.
• Mentor and train faculty, staff, and teaching assistants involved in clinical skills education.
• Lead efforts to innovate and enhance clinical skills teaching with new technologies and methods.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare and teaching regulations.
• Provide innovative education, mentorship, and guidance to students in multiple settings.
• Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation to meet high academic standards.
• Participate in overall curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement.
