You will oversee scheduling, training, inventory control, and policy enforcement, while addressing client questions about policies, appointments, and costs.

The role requires leadership, organization, and excellent customer service to ensure efficient hospital operation and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with 1+ year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multitasker and strong communicator.
• Highly organized and possess computer skills.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skillset.
• Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Make informal recommendations to the veterinary regional manager concerning staffing needs, advancement, re-assignments, hours of work or other status changes affecting receptionists.
• Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills and conduct performance appraisals.
• Recruit, hire and onboard staff that fit hospital culture and needs; manage salaries and guidelines.
• Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community by attending local and regional events.
• Resolve informal employee complaints and maintain effective employee-management communication.
• Work with team to support hospital, doctors and practice philosophy.
• Maintain patient records with correct order and sequence; enter veterinary orders accurately.
