Job summary

Oak View Animal Clinic in Pea Ridge, AR, is seeking an experienced veterinary practice manager to lead the hospital’s administrative and patient-care operations. You will oversee scheduling, staff development, client services, and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth daily functions.

You will collaborate with doctors and the veterinary team to maintain high standards of care, manage inventory, and optimize workflow in a busy 3-doctor practice. A passion for animals and people is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in practice management or certification preferred; with at least 1 year of management experience, or 3+ years of veterinary leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of veterinary hospital operations and terminology.
• Experience leading, training, and developing a team.
• Highly organized with strong computer and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow veterinary knowledge and leadership skills.
• Flexible and able to adjust hours based on hospital needs.
• Passion for veterinary medicine and creating positive experiences for pets, clients, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the veterinary and client service teams through training, performance feedback, scheduling, and ongoing support.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard team members aligned with hospital culture and care standards.
• Create staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage based on hospital needs.
• Maintain strong employee-management communication and resolve team concerns professionally.
• Provide excellent client service by addressing questions, policies, appointment availability, and costs.
• Oversee inventory, equipment, purchasing, vendor relationships, and pricing.
• Ensure compliance with DEA/controlled substances and OSHA requirements.
• Monitor payroll for accuracy and timely submission.
• Support accurate patient records and veterinary terminology in orders and instructions.
• Communicate emergency cases promptly to veterinary staff.
• Represent and promote the hospital within the local community and industry.
• Partner with the veterinary regional manager on staffing and operations.
