Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Paramus, NJ is seeking for a confident, caring, and results-driven Practice Manager to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. Th e Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital by handling the day-to-day operations of the practice in order for the staff to provide the best level of veterinary care to our customers.

Pay: $106,800 - $126,700 annually

As a Practice Manager, you will:

  • Mentor, develop and lead a mix of 30+hourly and professional team members to excel and become a successful team focused on patient care.
  • Partner and oversee the doctor team, medical team, and client service representatives, guiding them to the next level of development.
  • Guide the financial and strategic business development to achieve hospital profitability.
  • Expertly handle the primary care DVM and patient referral base with a high level of sensitivity
  • Develop intra-staff relationships with a command of HR-related issues and state, federal, local legal compliance of relevant employment law.
  • Create and maintain hospital protocols to ensure efficiency, compliance, and the highest standard of patient care.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, fostering a positive and engaged work environment.
  • Oversee inventory management and cost control to optimize hospital resources without compromising patient care.
  • Implement and monitor operational workflows to enhance client satisfaction and streamline hospital processes.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to align hospital goals with company-wide initiatives and industry best practices.
  • Manage conflict resolution among team members and clients with professionalism, empathy, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts to build a strong, resilient, and well-supported team.


Experience Preferred:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred. CVPM designation a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of proven success in managing professionals in complex organizations, either within veterinary/human medicine, hospitality, or client services industries.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
