Ayers Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary clinic offering emergency and routine care, advanced diagnostics, and surgeries. We value a calm, pet-friendly environment and strong client communication.

We are seeking a registered veterinary technician with at least 1 year of experience to join our team. Responsibilities include triage, lab work, anesthesia, imaging, and collaborative patient care. Some Saturday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed/registered veterinary technician with 1+ year experience.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Punctual and available on some Saturdays.
• Excellent client communication and customer service.
• Ability to interpret medical records and maintain client histories.
• Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
• Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress, safe manner.
• Proficient in collecting samples and processing lab tests (blood, urine, feces, skin).
• Proficient in radiographic positioning; dental radiographs a plus.
• Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
• Self-starter eager to advance knowledge and skills.
• Able to receive feedback professionally to maintain hospital efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and manage animal restraint.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; support diagnostic testing.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging and radiographs; dental radiographs a plus.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases; administer medications.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to clients; document records.

Job description

Ayers Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital, and we are equipped to handle emergency cases as well as non-emergency medical, surgical, preventive health and dental cases. Dr. Mark Ayers, Dr. Candie Baker, Dr. Amber Lilly, Dr. Rebecca Metz and Dr. Julie Tackett are experienced in all types of medical, surgical, and preventive health conditions. Beyond first rate pet care, we make our hospital comfortable, kid-friendly, and provide a very calm environment so your pet can relax in our spacious waiting room and look forward to meeting his or her own personal veterinarian.

Our hours of operation are:

• Monday - Friday: 7 AM – 5 PM
• Saturday: 9 AM – 11 AM
  • *No appointments, only drop offs / pick ups / medication refills

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
• Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
• Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs,positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
• Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
• A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
• Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
