Job summary

Nease Animal Hospital in St. Augustine, FL, is seeking a Veterinary Practice Manager to lead daily operations, develop team members, and strengthen client relations.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on a positive culture, staff development, and delivering high-quality care for pets and their families. You will oversee recruiting, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and vendor relationships, while ensuring compliance and smooth workflows across the hospital.

Qualifications

• Management experience in a veterinary setting preferred (or 3+ years veterinary experience).
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and hospital operations.
• Ability to coach employees and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, feedback, performance reviews, and professional growth opportunities.
• Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and staffing decisions to meet the needs of the hospital.
• Oversee daily operations, payroll, inventory, purchasing, equipment, and vendor relationships.
• Build strong client relationships by addressing concerns, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, OSHA requirements, and DEA and controlled-substance procedures.
• Partner with doctors and regional leadership to support hospital goals and improve workflows.
• Promote the hospital through local events, community outreach, and relationships within the veterinary profession.
• Help maintain accurate patient records and effective communication across the team.
