Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Pharmacy Technician in California to support medication distribution and client education. The role emphasizes accurate prescription processing, inventory tasks, and high-quality customer service within a busy veterinary pharmacy.

Candidates should be able to work a 4/10 schedule with weekend availability and maintain professional conduct aligned with state laws and hospital policies.

• Proficient with computers to enter charges and process prescriptions in Ezyvet.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.

• Weekend availability with 4/10 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies and protocols.
• Prepare and fill medications for outpatients and inpatients as allowed by state law.
• Enter prescription information, search patients/prescribers, interpret and resolve entries.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock Cubex machines.
• Create prescription labels and attach to containers as permitted by state law.
• Keep the Pharmacy department clean and organized.
• Assist with drug inventory control and compliance with laws and protocols.
• Provide medication counseling to owners with excellent customer service.
• Monitor the prescription dashboard, daily requests, and fulfill prescriptions.
• Respond to pharmacy email and voicemail and coordinate with doctors.
