Qualifications

We’re currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our on-site pharmacy team within a fast-paced, cutting-edge veterinary practice.

Overview

A Pharmacy Technician in veterinary medicine plays a vital role in supporting veterinarians by handling various tasks related to the preparation and dispensing of medications for animal patients. The Pharmacy Technician will possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a strong attention to detail. This is a great role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting high-quality veterinary care.

Compensation

  • $17-$19, based on experience

Schedule:

  • Full Time
    • 5x8 Hour Shifts
    • Days
    • Weekend rotations
Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking payment from clients for medications and services performed within the hospital
  • Filling prescriptions with appropriate labels, instructions, and warnings in congruence with doctor orders
  • Communicating with outside pharmacies for new scripts and refills
  • Responsible for managing the controlled substance log for our hospital, contributing to inventory control
  • Maintaining strong organization within the Pharmacy room
  • Keeping good relations with the hospital staff and doctors.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma is required, Associate/Bachelor’s degree is preferred; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education / experience.
  • A loving disposition with animals is a must
  • 1-2 years of veterinary experience preferred
  • 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
  • Reliable, able to work in a team environment as well as independently, adaptable to quickly changing situations, and a self-starter
  • Adapts positively to the ever-changing healthcare environment by supporting technology and process changes.
  • Must possess excellent listening and interpersonal skills and problem-solving methods.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
  • We require that all Pharmacy personnel pass the PTCB exam to obtain a certification in pharmacy technology. The costs of exam and exam prep will be paid by the employer.
