Veterinary Sedation Coordinator Technician

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Sedation Coordinator Technician with a proven track record of success to manage and coordinate the diagnostic team’s agenda in our fast-paced and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging department.

Compensation:
  • $20-$22/hr based on experience
Schedule:
  • Full Time
  • 4x10 hour shifts with rotating weekends
Position Overview:

The Sedation Coordinator Technician plays a critical role within the Diagnostic Imaging department, focusing primarily on ultrasound services. Responsibilities include coordinating and maintaining the ultrasound schedule, communicating with physicians and other departments for sedation documentation, assisting in patient sedation, and calculating drug dosages. The technician must keep the schedule on track, proactively resolve conflicts, and adjust plans in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and prepare sedation drugs accurately and safely.
  • Coordinate the schedule, adjusting for last-minute changes or additional patients.
  • Monitor patient care during sedation, ensuring high-quality care.
  • Ensure proper vital sign monitoring throughout sedation.
  • Assess and interpret sedation effects, ensuring patient safety.
  • Support veterinary technicians and assistants regarding patient reactions.
  • Stay flexible to accommodate schedule changes.
  • Maintain composure and manage unexpected challenges effectively.
  • Serve as a role model, promoting a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced veterinary technician skills such as IV catheter placement, emergency intubation, and blood pressure monitoring.
Who We’re Looking For:
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 2 years of experience, preferably in emergency or specialty practice.
  • Experience in Diagnostic Imaging is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions.
  • Passion for animal care and patient well-being.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
